Terms of service

Type your own words. Do not post what you have no right to post. That is most of it.
1. Who you are agreeing with
PreciousList is run by one person, trading as PreciousList. All notices, reports, appeals, and legal requests go through the contact form.
2. Who can use it
You must be 18 or over. By signing in you confirm your age and your capacity to enter this agreement. One person, one account. Accounts found to belong to people under 18 are closed.
3. Your account and username
You sign in with Google or Apple. You choose a username once. It is not changed and it is not given to another person, including after you delete your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
4. Your notes stay yours
You own what you write. To run the service you grant a non exclusive, worldwide, royalty free licence to store your note, show it to you, and, if you publish it, show it to other members. The licence covers nothing else. It ends when you delete the note, except for copies in backups, which expire on the schedule in the privacy policy, and copies other people made while the note was public.
5. Rules for content
- Do not post content that is unlawful where you are.
- Do not post another person's private information.
- Do not post sexual content involving minors. Such content is reported to the authorities and the account is closed.
- Do not post threats, harassment, or incitement to violence.
- Do not post material you have no right to publish.
- Do not use bots, scripts, scrapers, or automation, and do not attempt to bypass the typing rules.
- Do not resell access or advertise on behalf of other people.
6. Reports and what follows
Any member reports a public note and states a reason. Enough reports returns the note to private at once, and a person then reviews it. When a note is removed or an account is restricted, the account holder is told what was affected, the ground for it, whether automated tools were used, and how to appeal.
Appeals go through the contact form within six months. In the European Union you may also use a certified out of court dispute settlement body and complain to the Digital Services Coordinator in your member state. Accounts that break these rules repeatedly are closed.
7. Copyright
If a work of yours appears here without permission, send a notice through the contact form. Include the work, where the note sits, your contact details, a statement of good faith belief, a statement that the information is accurate, and your name. Counter notices take the same route. Repeat infringers lose their accounts.
8. Ads and contributions
Payments are not live yet. When they open, five dollars will run one of your public notes in the Ads tab for 24 hours, with no targeting, no analytics, and no report at the end. Eligibility, refunds, and the right of withdrawal for consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom will be set out here before the first payment is taken. Until then, nothing on PreciousList costs money.
9. Availability
PreciousList is a web app and works online. There is no uptime promise. Features may change, pause, or end, with notice in the app where possible. Notes are not archived for you, so export anything you want to keep.
10. Ending it
Delete your account at any time in settings. An account may be suspended or closed for a breach of these terms, for a legal requirement, or for a risk to other members, and the reason is given unless the law prevents it.
11. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, implied warranties are excluded, and total liability for any claim is limited to 100 US dollars. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights stand and nothing here reduces them.
12. Law and disputes
If you are a consumer, the law of the country you live in applies to you, and you may bring a claim in your own courts. Otherwise these terms are governed by the law of the country the operator lives in, and its courts have jurisdiction. Talk to the operator through the contact form before bringing a claim. Most of this can be settled there.
13. Changes
New versions are posted here with a date, and a notice appears in the app at least 15 days before a change takes effect. If you do not accept it, delete your account before that date.
