Ads

You will think this is a contradiction. Here is all of it.

What you can buy

Five dollars runs one of your public notes in the Ads tab for 24 hours, where every member can see it, not only the people who follow you. The note stays in its usual place as well. Ads run in time order. One runs at a time, and you can buy another once it ends. Nothing else is for sale.

What you cannot buy

There is no targeting. There are no impressions, clicks, analytics or reports. There are no guarantees of visibility, engagement or outcomes. You will not be told how many people saw the note, whether anyone read it, or whether it worked. PreciousList is not a performance marketing platform and there is no way to turn it into one.

Who can buy

A member of at least seven days, with at least five published notes and at least five people following them. You have to have written something before you can pay to be read.

Why it exists at all

Two reasons. The first is spam: a charge that returns nothing measurable is the cheapest filter there is, and anyone farming attention at volume has no reason to be here. The second is that some people write well and are read by nobody, and there is no algorithm here to fix that. This is the only lever, and it is deliberately a poor one.

How an ad is kept honest

Ads are not reviewed before they run. Any member reports an ad and states a reason. Enough reports ends it at once and sends it to a person for review. An ad also ends the moment its note stops being public. The Ads tab keeps to itself, so anyone who does not want to see ads does not open it.

What we want

As few of these as possible.
